My name is Annie Echols and I grew up in Davidson, N.C., located just outside of Charlotte, N.C. When I first saw Washington and Lee University, I was instantly drawn to the mountains and knew it was the school for me.

As a junior majoring in Business Administration, I’ll jump at any opportunity to interact with people and further my writing skills. This is what drew me to journalism classes at W&L.
On campus, I tutor students in accounting through the Peer Tutoring program. I also serve on the First Year Orientation Committee leadership board, where I am spearheading a new event for the incoming class of 2023. I was recently selected as a Director of Social Events for my sorority, Chi Omega.
I also work in the Office of University Advancement as a guest house coordinator. My job is to greet and interact with various university guests, which gives me the opportunity to meet some incredible people.
When I’m at home I enjoy hanging out with my family and friends on nearby Lake Norman, walking my dog Kevin, and traveling. I also love serving at a restaurant called Hickory Tavern during the summers.
I’m hoping to use the writing and communications skills I’m learning at W&L to become a political or business analyst.
